Machli (T-16): The Queen Mother of Ranthambore
No tiger symbolizes Ranthambore’s legacy quite like Machli (T-16). Nicknamed the “Lady of the Lake” and “Queen of Ranthambore,” she rose to legendary status after her 1997 birth, famed for her fish-shaped mark and unmatched survival prowess. Her bold spirit was on full display during her legendary battle with a 14-foot crocodile, a testament to her courage and strength. Machli’s legacy goes far beyond her 20 remarkable years (far exceeding the average wild tiger’s lifespan): she raised 11 cubs, directly contributing to a significant boost in Ranthambore’s tiger population. Her global fame led to her receiving the esteemed “Lifetime Achievement Award” and established her status as one of the most photographed tigers in history.

Renowned for her remarkable hunting skills and the distinctive arrow-shaped mark on her forehead, Arrowhead stands out as a true heir to the dynasty. Currently, she reigns over the lakes area of the park, enchanting visitors with her grace and parenting prowess, having raised several healthy litters to adulthood.

With lineage rooted in royalty, Riddhi (T-124) inherits the throne of the wild as the daughter of Arrowhead and great-granddaughter of the iconic Machli. As one of the park's youngest queens, Riddhi is recognized for her bold personality and formidable hunting skills. Her audacious crocodile hunt made headlines, and she’s often spotted gracefully leading her cubs along Ranthambore’s serene lakes, preserving the majesty of her bloodline.

Krishna (T-19) is another renowned descendant of Machli, who was famed for her beauty and sturdiness. She dominated the sprawling lake territories and was renowned for her nurturing care, having raised several litters and extending Machli’s royal bloodline. Krishna’s legacy and impact remain deeply rooted in zones 2 to 5, the core of tiger tourism. Her passing in February 2023 marked the end of an era, but she left behind a lasting and powerful influence.
 Ustad (T-24): The Dominant Master
 Ustad (T-24): The Dominant Master
Ustad, designated as T-24 and aptly named “master,” was a dominant male tiger revered for his strength and decade-long rule over expansive lands. Ustad gained infamy for his boldness, occasionally seen dragging his prey onto highways and, unfortunately, for incidents that raised concern among park authorities. Despite controversy, his grandeur and imposing presence made him a favorite subject for photographers and visitors alike.

However, he astonished everyone by defying tiger stereotypes and raising two orphaned cubs, displaying a rare and tender side seldom witnessed in solitary males. His story is one of redemption and surprise.
